Thrush is caused by the yeast Candida (usually Candida albicans) Yogurt, which has live Acidophillus in it helps the lessen the Candida load and helps the body’s micoflora become more balanced. For this reason, women are encouraged to eat yogurt or take Acidophillus to help prevent vaginal yeast infection. Once you have a thrush or a yeast infection, you often need an antifungal medication although eating yogurt as well doesn’t hurt. Thrush usually refers to a yeast infection in the mouth or throat–but it is caused by the same organism that causes genital yeast infections.

ah you see ….there are normally lots of harmless acidic bacteria inside the vagina…which act to keep everything healthy and prevent opportunisitic infection. Thrush is when this normal colonisation is upset. Yoghurt is full of harmless acidic bacteria…so using it recolonises the vagina to the right balances again!!!

Yoghurt is mildly acidic. Thrush cannot thrive in an acidic environment.

I used to get thrush all the time and found Diflucan one (from the chemist) really helped. Cut down on the sugar, eat plain yoghurt.

I would never try "natural" remedies. If there is a problem, see a physician and get treated the RIGHT way.

yeast infection? well to help with the itching i suggest vagisil, or hydocortizone cream, and get a monistat kit ,its like 3 dollars at wal mart, if you mean thrush in the mouth then i suggest mouth wast, and a tounge scraper, good luck you will get better i have had both tons of times!

go to a pharmacist they have proven remedies that work quickly, if you wish to supplement what they offer eat some bifidus yogurt
